The Isle of Skye is now easily accessible from the mainland either across the Skye Bridge from Kyle of Lochalsh to Kyleakin,
or by ferry from Mallaig to Armadale or Glenelg to Kylerhea. From the south of the island the main road takes you north to Portree
and Seacroft Cottage is situated just eight miles from Portree down a country lane that's leads off the A850 Dunvegan road.

Now just a handful of loch-side homes, the centuries-old crofting township of Treaslane overlooks Loch Snizort and Seacroft
Cottage is the last house at the end of the lane leading from the Portree to Dunvegan road.
Its situation in the centre of the island makes our cottage the perfect base for exploring the 'Misty Isle'. It's just a short
drive to Uig and the ferry to the Outer Hebrides, or to Dunvegan with its Castle and array of restaurants. The Waternish peninsula
is close by, so too is the village of Glendale; whilst Talisker is only forty minutes drive away, and Elgol and Sleat a comfortable
day trip, as well as Plockton on the mainland - home to the acclaimed television series "Hamish MacBeth".
The majestic jagged skyline of the famous Cuillin Hills so often provides the backdrop whichever way you look. Adventurous
climbers can tackle the many tracks up and along the Cuillins, whilst less ambitious walkers can find a wide variety of lengths
and levels of walks all over the island, from the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing north of Portree, to the MacLeod's Tables
and coral beaches at Dunvegan, the rugged cliffs and shoreline of Neist Point and the forest tracks to the beach at Glenbrittle.
